Our Tears

Author: Kamal Acharyya | Posted on: 16th, Oct, 2023

We all wish to spend our life
in joy, happiness, and laughter;
however, in our journey of life
which is full of ups and downs,
it becomes necessary
to shed tears, sometimes!

Sometimes we shed tears,
when very sad or in utter grief,
because of calamities and tragic happenings,
which are beyond our control,
so unable to cope with the agony anymore,
we cry for solace or relief!

Like rain takes away
all the dirt and garbage
along with the flowing water,
tears in our eyes when we cry,
take away all the sorrow and grief
out of the closets of our minds!

Sometimes tears make our eyes
temporarily blear and blurred,
things all around become unclear;
when the eyes are dry again
after the cry of relief,
everything becomes clearer
more than ever before!

Whether we shed tears alone
or have a shoulder to lean upon,
sometimes tears help us
to clear some of the built-up
agony, emotions, loss, failures…
and allow us to go ahead in life, again!

Of course, we shed tears,
sometimes, out of extreme joy and laughter,
to express our uncontrolled emotions
of gratitude and happiness,
and those tear drops shine brightly
like diamonds in our mental sky!

Let’s shed tears of joy, happiness, and laughter,
tears that take away our grief and sorrow,
and tears to make our conscience clear;
but never, ever any crocodile tears!!
