You Only Can Say

Author: Kamal Acharyya | Posted on: 11th, Sep, 2025

Let’s suppose, all of us from our childhood would have followed
all the advice of our elders, the discourses and teachings of all
wise men, without forgetting any one of them,
throughout the whole journey of our lives;

If all spoke the truth, walked the righteous ways, strictly abiding
by the rules in our days, forgetting our selfish interests and gain
did everything for the benefit of one and all,
You tell me, how would that world be then?

Then that world would have been free from dishonesty and
corruption, devoid of fraud, deceivers, cheaters, exploiters,
thieves, and war mongers;

So many professions would become superfluous army, police,
lawyers, judges, thieves, smugglers… all factories producing
arms and ammunition, all institutions engaged in investigations
and cleverly turning lies into truth and truth into lies,
will be closed!

That world would be so peaceful then, but all of us know it may
never happen, it will remain a distant dream,
As most of us will not speak the truth, follow the discipline
lawful paths will be driven by the six evils inherent in us;

So the world around us will move the same way it has been
moving all these days! Yet, even today, there are a few social
warriors – righteous, honest, upright, sincere, and truthful,
trying to save this world from human greed and making it worth
living and beautiful!

You and only you can say whether you are one amongst them who light the way?
