The Invisible Canvas

Author: Kamal Acharyya | Posted on: 14th, Jun, 2024

Amongst the innumerable gifts
bestowed on me
by my Creator in this life,
there is a unique one
invisible to the naked eye –
a canvas
clean and white
framed on an easel in my mind!

As a child didn’t know
what to do with this gift,
so used to smudge it up
whatever way I liked
with the colours
of my laughter without any reason
or my tears for every reason
or my babbles for no reason!

Surprisingly the very next day
the canvas used to be empty
clean and white,
with the vanishing act
of the invisible Creator of mine,
for me to play with it
and make it colourful
yet another time!

The canvas was small
in the beginning,
and it kept expanding
as I grew up
and started filling it up
different hues of excitement and anxiety
of the journey of my adult life –
despair, pain, happiness, and hope!

The canvas is so big now
it mingles with the vastness
of endless sky
sprinkled with beautiful colours
of flora and fauna,
all the creations of nature
and the mesmerizing rays
of my days of twilights!!
