  2. Dear Debu,

Very interesting, it reminds me of our situation. We uprooted & came to Kolkata as refugee just following partition. My father managed to buy a house in Hindustan Park, near Gariahat and close to comrade Joyti Basu’s house. Very priced location in south Kolkata. After wards, it modified to three storied with six more extra rooms to accommodate 15 family members.

However, moving out of native inhabitants to suburbs to make room incoming population is probably a common syndrome all over. As example, Bengalees migrating to other parts of India also occupied mostly coveted location. Indian immigrants are no different in USA being settled in verry affluent locations.

Let us cheers and hope WB will be benefitted by the change of guards.
