A TRIBUTE

With utmost humility, gratitude, and appreciation I dedicate the following poems of mine to Dr. Sandeep Chauhan and his team, Dr. Jyoti and her team, and innumerable Doctors and supporting staff members of Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, India, and above all Dr. Ashish Chakravarty, my son-in-law, Dr. Deepshikha Acharyya, my daughter and my wife, Seema and all my relatives and friends……..
who all made me walk again.

*Let Me Walk on…..*

Let me walk on….
the rest of my life’s path
just for the sake of
fun of the journey
without a destination!

Don’t tell me
to reach a goal or
climb one more rung
in the ladder to the top
for the sake of name or fame;
i have run too many races all throughout mostly with failures
sometimes with little success!

Now let me walk on…..
to reach nowhere,
not to set another destination
after reaching somewhere
and continue to look for
mystery of nature and creation everywhere!

Now let me walk on…..
bare foot on green grass,
blades moist with morning dew, glistening like diamonds
in early morning rays,
however insignificant or small,
enjoying the beauty
of sunrise beyond the hills and plains!

Now let me walk on…
the soft sand
of the endless beach
of life’s ocean
with long garland of footprints
to be washed by series of tides!

Now let me walk on….
following the setting sun,
twilight, the moon and stars,
fathoming the mystery
of the universe,
the controlling power
behind everything – nothing to all!

Now let me walk on….
simply enjoying the journey as it continuously unfolds,
without any expectations
in these twilight years
and beyond!

Now let me walk on and on… and on…
expressing my gratitude to everyone
whom i meet, known and unknown,
on my journey in every bend,
be a flower, bird, human or insect,
they will give me peace and happiness for the rest of my twilight days!!

*********************************************************************

*Let Me Walk Away….*

While i walk on and on…
let me also walk away, if i truly can,
from the bitten path dictated
by the six evils
inherently imprinted in my mind
by Nature or God , whatever is our belief!

Let me walk away…
from past actions that leave only regrets,
from relationships devoid of love and respect, from speech which is not pleasant to the ears,
from responses triggered by anger and fear,
from thoughts which poison my soul,
from habits that inhibit me from my goal!

Let me walk away …
ignoring all the negativities’ snare,
towards a path of peace, tranquility and care,
with smile on my face all through my remaining days!!
