HIM

That frail being erect and
Bipedal
Walking steadily past the fields and
Vales,
Across the mountains, he climbs
The heights
And swims the fiords and
Bays,
Mind fixed to straddle past the hurdles Rough;
With head so big and palms so
Large,
With thumbs against the rest;
And thus evolved
The Man,
The conqueror and the
Best,
Through time, nature and
Space,
Who wombs the seed almost
A year
Feeds from breast for
Another
And guards the young fully for
A decade
Guides till he is
A man,
To fetch own grab and
Mate,
Protect and reproduce another of its
Kind,
The man,
With time, care and love.
He stands straight on his legs with vision
Binary
Hands deft, brain full of thoughts new and
Brave,
Heart full of courage and soul
Devoted
To clear the mist, bring
Light
And kindle hope in
Many,
It takes many, many, and many
A man
To be born and to die, to nurse and
Care
From womb to dust
To get
A man
To stand erect, swim, climb, hunt and
Love and recreate
A Man.
