More Mental Tour

Author: Kamal Acharyya | Posted on: 4th, Apr, 2025

I am happy that you agreed finally
to visit the distant hill with me mentally!
You don’t have to take anybody’s permission,
prepare for the journey quite in advance,
with tickets for bus-train-plane, passport-visa,
hotel booking, taxi, and so on…and on…;
don’t worry, you wouldn’t need any of these
except an invincible desire to travel for this tour;
there will be no physical stress or strain
but the mind should be imaginative always,
then we will travel to the distant hill in a blink,
as nothing moves faster than the mind’s wink!

That country is full of green valleys and trees,
wind whispers in the forest of pines and chinars,
hundreds of waterfalls dancing down the hills,
finally meeting into a rapid stream,
though full of boulders and pebbles
the water is cold, soothing and pure,
you can dip your legs into the turbulent flow
and feel the calm and peaceful allure;
distant peaks are covered with snow,
glistening in the daytime with bright sun rays
and charming in the night’s moonlit sky
beauty of such scenes you can’t deny!

Leisurely strolling along the winding path,
keeping our eyes and ears always alert,
seeking something exciting at each bend
unseen flowers, fauna, orchards,
step farming along the hill slopes,
beauty of which will never end;

slowly and gradually will reach a valley quietly
nestling a village picturesque,
where life is so simple and peaceful,
i wish, i could live here with you!

Let us now end this chapter of our mental tour,
next time we surely explore even more!!
