Maan Ki Baat

After two and half decades of running the coalition Government in India, BJP winning in the election of 2014 as a single majority party formed the government in India in 2014.
As a Majority Party of Parliament BJP decided Narendra D Modi was chosen to become the Prime Minister of India. The newly elected Prime Minister Narendra D Modi decided to introduce a two way communication between the Government and the People of India. The Prime Minister Modiji named it Mann Ki Baat, to express the mind of common people of India. The idea behind this Maan Ki Baat was to establish a dialogue with the citizens to learn the burning issues of the day and thus the Government of the country could prioritize the needs of the citizens of the country.
On October 3, 2014, he explained that he wanted all the citizens to work together for the development and progress of the country. On the same day he reiterated, “I have only one intention in speaking with you all, come, let us serve our Mother India. Let us all take our nation to the new heights. Let us all take a step forward. If you take one step, our nation takes 125 crore steps to move forward, and for this purpose, on this auspicious occasion of Vijay Dashami, we all need to defeat all of our inner evils and decide to start doing something good for the nation. Today is the fortunate beginning for me. I will be sharing my heartfelt thoughts with all of you. Today, I shall share all the thoughts coming directly from my heart. I will meet you all next at 11 am on Sundays, but I trust our journey shall never end and will continue receiving love and suggestions from you.” It was determined that approximately many crores of people listened to his first speech of Maan Ki Baat through Radio broadcast. Later, it was estimated that at least 100 crores of people listened to his Maan Ki Baat at once. Eventually, people of India saw a leader who is working together with common people for the betterment of life of the citizens of the country. The people felt that they are working for their own benefit and this self-gratification took the Maan Ki Baat to a new higher level of accomplishment of bondage between the citizen and the Government of India. This unique communication created strong relation of mutual trust and respect between P.M. Narendra Modi and the people of India. Thus a leader of BJP party became the leader of country and eventually one of the great leaders of the world. He loves his country as his own mother. He reckons the citizens of India as his own family members. Once he even said to President Donald Trump looking at the audience(mostly Indians) in Houston “ Once you introduced me to your family, tonight I am going to introduce you to my family.” He then pointed to the audience and smilingly said “ this is my beloved family.” His glowing face could tell that he has really meant what he said and it was obvious this family belongs to his heart. His innovative way of communicating with the people, has been exalted by many countries and many leaders of the world leaders.
Once he started to roll the ball of Maan Ki Baat on October 3, 2014, and this continued to its 100th episode on 30th April, 2023. This was a global broadcast and the whole world heard him with great attention and concentration. Even United Nations heard his 100th Maan Ki Baat through live telecast with great respect and attention.
He started by addressing the people of country, “Maan Ki Baat was started to start a dialogue with the next door neighbor, to understand him, to know him, to be acquainted with the fellow citizen, to share the joy and sorrow with him, to share and learn his mind from him and finally establish a relationship of mutual respect and tolerance with him irrespective of caste, creed, or class of that person.”
This new idea was so well received by the people that it went for so many years and finally the 100th episode came to be aired to make a record for the “Maan Ki Baat.” It seems to be that “Maan Ki Baat” was destined to create a glorious future for both the citizen and the country as well.
On the day of 100th episode he appeared in his usual white attire with a beautiful vest on top of it. He looked very elegant, his face looked very sharp, his intelligence appeared in his smiling eyes, he looked very sincere and confident and he started by saying “Namaskar, my beloved countrymen, I have received many letters and millions of information and I tried to read all them. And also tried to comprehend the meaning of these thoughtful ideas which you have given me in these letters.” Then he said that he has summarized all of them into these categories and summarized in the following manner.
“ 1) “I received thousands of letters and messages from the people and was “swept away by emotions” while reading them. The Mann Ki Baat show is the personification of our citizens; here we celebrate positivity, and people’s participation,” PM Modi said.
2) “The Mann Ki Baat show is the personification of our citizens; here we celebrate positivity, and people’s participation,” PM Modi said, while adding that the show is a way of celebrating others’ achievements, an occasion to learn from others.
3) “The ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign has improved the gender ratio in Haryana,” the Prime Minister said.
4) “Tourism sector is growing rapidly in the country. Be it our natural resources, rivers, mountains, ponds or our pilgrimage sites, it is important to keep them clean. This will help the tourism industry a lot, said the PM.
5) “Mann Ki Baat has been a catalyst in igniting numerous mass movements, be it ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ or ‘Catch the Rain’, Mann Ki Baat has enabled mass movements to gain momentum.”

I was listening to his elaboration of ideas which he received none other than his ordinary countrymen, his oration, felicity of diction made me feel that I became spellbound as a snake charmer does it to his serpents. His poignant selection of words entered the heart of the heart of millions of listeners who were sitting in front of their television.
After listening to Modiji the UNESCO’s spokesperson expressed her satisfaction and told that India has made remarkable progress in science and education, and many other fields to fortify the inner strength of its culture and heritage. She also mentioned that India is in the lead
position of G20 countries and she believes that India will do an outstanding job in hosting this summit in its capital city, New Delhi. At the end she emphasized that UNESCO will work hand to hand with India to promote the fundamental right to education and culture to the citizens of India. In response to her comments Modiji explained that India will take bold step to improve medical science, education, and technology for the citizens of the country. He also added Maan Ki Baat is moving forward with the thought of duty and servitude towards the people of the country. Maan Ki Baat will help to collect the diverse beads of global culture and make our culture rich of diversity. After the freedom of the country only this will take the country forward to the correct direction and this will bring back the tradition which will direct our people to the joyfulness of love, mutual respect and understanding among our fellow citizens. This Maan Ki Baat will take us and our country to a new high where everyone will work together for the betterment of the citizenry of the country. He has also admitted that Maan Ki Baat is a spiritual journey for him and allowed him to connect with people of the country and learn from them. At the end he said “I have so many things to say but cannot due to time constraint, I shall mingle with your family as a member through this Maan Ki Baat, so please let me say good bye to you and please take good care of you.”

He respectfully mentioned that as our Upanishad gives the wise advice of “Charaiveti, Charaiveti, Chalte Roho, Chalte Roho, Chalne Ka naam-E “Jeevan Hai.” He mentioned with conviction that some day it will establish a richer and stronger India for all of us.

At the end he expressed his gratitude for the media who has all along been with him for the dispensing of “Maan Ki Baat” for so many years. Finally, he said “Good bye” to his all listeners who has patiently enjoyed the vibration and feeling of his mind which mingled with the minds of the audience of India and the world as well.

Note – I was a spectator of this 100th Episode of ‘Maan Ki Baat” with a neutral mind. I tried my best to report it to you with an unbiased mind. Hopefully, I am successful in reporting so. If you notice my emotion is mingled in this reporting, then it happened, I must confess, because the ‘Maan Ki Baat’s” indomitable heartfelt appeal took over my judgement of neutrality in my preconscious mind, and I apologize for this weakness.

Bharat Mata Ki Jay. Jay Hind.
