আলোচনা – Discussion on World in 2070

Author: Debu Chaudhuri | Posted on: 10th, Oct, 2024

Achintya Das initiated this discussion (Nov – 2020)

One month back I requested all of you to participate in a game to predict what the future World would look like in 2070, fifty years from now. Eight of you, including me, have participated and sent me your thoughts by email. You wanted to have a discussion session on this. So our next Google Meet Adda session on  27-Nov-2020 will be used for this.

Since I am not sure how the discussion process will proceed, I asked Mantu and Gopen during one of the extended Adda when most of you left the Adda. Taking care of their input and mine, let me propose that each one (participants or non-participants of the game) can ask questions to the writers or can talk about his thoughts (not reading out the writeup). Let each individual decide his way to discuss it. Everyone will get around fifteen minutes for this session. If we are short of time, we will continue this discussion during the subsequent Friday Adda.

Interestingly, we will be discussing how the World would look like in 2070 when we don’t even know what is going to happen in 2021- that is the FUN of the game.

I am now attaching all the documents (after they are converted to PDF format) that I have received from all the participants. Please take some time to jot down the points that you need to discuss on 27-Nov-2020. Till then enjoy reading.

Best wishes and love,
Achintya

Admin note:

I was not able to join at that time. This month I had a good time with Barun Deb and visited with him and his wife at Long Wood Garden, Pennsylvania. I thought it would be nice to revisit where you guys left off and refresh your memory. It was a game then and it is now. Please check your prediction and submit your comment online. Once admin approves all notes will be visible to you.
