The maternal home “Argosy” I grew up in,
Now brings so many fond memories back-
Of my childhood, in a cave of trees, facing a hill,
And the restless patch of blue sky seemed to lack!
The moistures to sprinkle in the form of rains,
In the hottest days of Summer year after year-
And deceived the tiny larks to quench their thirsts,
When the sun and its reflection imposed the tear!
With progress of modernization, ambience changed,
As things look different from the past, now forever-
And who knows when the changes will stop and where,
Around symphony or cacophony residents need to savor!
The water from the lonely fountain still falls,
But the cracked Liberty Bell does not sound-
And grasses of the seasons continue to grow happily,
To preserve the greeneries that nowhere can be found!
As my life on adopted land appears to be dimming,
I will anxiously wait as the midnight shadow here-
And guide the busiest information superhighways
To display my poetic works in the public to stare!
Under the veil of moonlit sky or a balanced day,
When the comet with her beauty will wheel by-
My eyes will cling and be engaged in the yellow dusts,
Lifted by Dallas wind moving towards a tinctured sky!!
