A short story
My employer assigned me to Dhaka, Bangladesh, to escort two British citizens who came to supervise a joint project.
While doing that, I met Amina and Sofia, who were born in Muslim families in Dhaka, Bangladesh. They had their education at Dhaka University where they became friends and used to spend their after-school leisure by strolling together around a park with a pond in the middle. After sunset, they routinely return to their respective homes.
At their mature ages, their parents got them married to Omar and Hasan, respectively to Amina and Sofia.
Omar and Hasan did not waste any time finding out about the Muslim community in the United States, their chosen country.
In the meantime, Omar’s and Hasan’s parents in Bangladesh also became aware of a Muslim community in the United States.
It was easy for Omar and Hasan to get employment in Muslim-owned grocery stores. They devoted their time and effort with elevated sincerity, so it was easy to gain their employers’ confidence in them to settle in the USA.
A negative impact was on the present employees that the employers rely more on Omar and Hasan than the present employees. This created severe animosity between new and existing ones although they were not ignored. But Omar and Hasan were favored by the employers and were offered better benefits.
The severity of animosity spread across the entire Muslim community. The agitation was so severe that a few agitators put several stores on fire. Very sadly, the fire caused Omar and Hasan to succumb to their eternal destiny.
